“I hope that Tehran-Singapore relations grow more than ever in all areas with the help and joint contributions to secure the national interests of the two countries,” reads the message of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to his Singaporean counterpart President Halimah Yacob.
The Iranian chief of government cabled a message of congratulation on Thursday, extending greetings to Singaporean President Yacob and the people of Singapore on the advent of the country's National Day on August 9.
Rouhani also prayed for the president’s continued health and success, as well as the nation’s felicity and prosperity.
The National Day of Singapore is celebrated every year on August 9, in commemoration of the Singapore's independence from Malaysia in 1965.
